Choices Challenge #4: Making the Choice to BE

Walking around my humble abode and assessing my work load for today was a bit daunting this morning. I literally said, “I feel like the walls are closing in on me.” as I stood in my life stricken closet. I stood there wondering how in the world things can be so messy when all I do is clean and do stuff all day long. Was there little mean elves who came out at night and multiplied my work load every night? I mean seriously, the only time I get to sit, is when I’m writing these post and when the sun goes down. But maybe that’s the problem. Maybe I’m just not taking the time to just BE. To just be alive in the mess. To just be present and not busy with all the doing.

So today, we are “Making the Choice to BE”. And by BE I mean, to “Be Still & Engaged”. We can be so busy that we forget who is in control of it all and by default become detached. “Be still and know that I am God…..” Psalm 46:10. It’s about trust. Trusting that our Father is already making provision and has a bigger plan than what we can see. If we just slow down and be still, we will start to see that, no the walls are not closing in on us and no there aren’t little mean elves trying to secretly give us a nervous break down. We will see that our busyness and mental chaos has caused us to get caught up in the doing and we have forgotten to KNOW that He is God. All the shuffling around can easily get our Holy Spirit life line tangled and disengaged. This domino effect can get way out of hand if we don’t wrangle it in at the start.

On this bright and sunny Thursday, we are going to STOP all the shuffle. Take a couple deep breaths as we actively still our hearts and get engaged to the Holy Spirit. This challenge is going to take lots of prayer and intentional action on our behalf. The sweeping can wait, the call can wait, the kid can wait and the media can wait, so that we can plug back into the source. “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT

Lord Jesus, we thank you for your unfailing grace that covers us in the busy. God today we surrender our doing to You. Give us the strength to BE today. Help us to be okay with being still and intentional about being engaged with Your Spirit. I bind every distraction that would hinder us from connecting with your will for us today. In Jesus Name, Amen!!!

Just BE today peeps! Have a blessed day!
