Is the lie easier to believe?

Good morning my fellow humans. Come sit with me for a sec. I just want to talk a bit.

With all of the chaos going on in our world today, there have been thousands of questions that have streamed through my mind. However, one in particular has plagued me. Is the lie easier to believe? Are we truly more apt to believe the lies that the enemy serves on a platter to us with a sprig of parsley than to latch on to the truth of God’s Word and who He says that we are? Are we seriously hungry for lies with an appetizer of deception?

Apparently, Yes. Many of us have bought and sold the lies that the enemy has presented to us. We have worn them as a banner over our heads and chanted them as songs of victory. We have traded the truth and hope that we have been so graciously give by the Father for the sad dwelling place of hopelessness and deceit. The reality is that our flesh has an appetite for the opposite of what Jesus serves us,  The TRUTH. “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” Galatians 5:16-17. Our itching ears  are just waiting for anything to appease them and we fall into the trap set before us and dance around in the dungeon.

But why?

Why have we chosen to trade in our inheritance of righteousness, love, unity, and freedom for the enemy’s delight of enslavement, hatred, division, and debauchery? Are we dealing with a terrible bout of Stockholm syndrome? Has the enemy held many captive so long that they are now empathetic toward his devices?

Whatever the reasoning, TODAY is the day that we need to stand together under the umbrella of JESUS CHRIST and say, NO MORE! Today we need to pick up our inheritance and wear our salvation and  our freedom as a badge of honor and banner above our heads. We have been set free from every label of man, every device of the enemy, every lie spoken over us, every fear that would destroy love, and every chain that has been shackled on us by the thieving enemy.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

I implore you! Treasure your freedom. It was bought with a heavy price (John 3:16). Please don’t trade in your sonship through Christ for slavery with the enemy. He can only steal what we are willing to let go of. Let us protect our inheritance, our righteousness, and our place with the King. Choose to lay down the falsehoods of a created truth and take up the Truth that has been gifted to us and the Author of that truth.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your grace and Your mercy. Father please take off the blinders that would keep us from seeing Your truth. Soften the hearts of many so that Your glory could be revealed to all that You love. God we are asking for a revival. We need you God to protect us from the lies of the enemy. Disarm the enemy and confuse his camp. Lord we are choosing to trust You and Your Word today. Thank you that our identity, our freedom, our treasure, and out inheritance is found in YOU and You alone. We surrender it ALL to You Lord. In Jesus name Amen.

In Christ,

J.E. Berry
